To clean the displacer stem: The quick method is to rotate the flywheel until the displacer stem is at its highest point, and wipe the stem with a cloth. The longer (and more reliable) method is to disassemble your engine (follow the assembly instructions backward) until you gain access to the displacer stem (there is no need to remove it from the displacer). Wipe it with a cloth and reassemble your engine as per assembly instructions.
